Raton Pass, New Mexico

Well we managed to safely avoid all the crazy tornodoes and flooding in the east by leaving Texas via the west and north. After a couple more overnight stops in Texas (post San Antonio) we arrived in Raton Pass, NM on Memorial day weekend.

The RV park was right at the top of the pass at just over 7800 ft elevation on the border of Eastern New Mexico and Colorado. Amazing views of the Raton mountain range from the park and right out our trailer window. So nice to see something other than the flat land of the Texas gulf!! Pics from around the RV park.

Finally got to go on some good hikes in nearby Sugarite Canyon State park. Here’s some pics from the Raton area and the state park.

Next stop, Colorado.
