A very sweaty River Walk, San Antonio TX

Well we finally said goodbye to Port O’Connor last Friday and are now currently a bit north of San Antonio. Having never been there before, this time we finally broke down and headed into the city last Saturday to walk the famous river walk.

Weather is still really unsettled and threats of strong thunderstorms persist so that meant cloudy skies and pretty much 100% humidity. Holy crap it was hot yesterday (and today as I type this in our little AC cooled cocoon) Temps hover around 90F/32C and feel like over 100F/38C with 100% humidity.

Thank God it was overcast or Dave would have melted within the first hour. The cloudy skies and the intermittent rain kept a lot of people away so it wasn’t as crowded as I’d expected the downtown to be. You’d think being by water would be cooler than on the street but no, definately not. No breeze along the river and even more humid down there. Thank god for frozen margaritas and ice cold beer to cool us off!

Happy to finally have San Antonio and the River walk crossed off our list of places to go and things to see. Enjoyed the scenery but pictures not the best with the overcast skies…take a look and see what you think. Not sure we’d go back but if you like shopping and eating out, then go.

Sunday was also crazy hot so we decided to take a drive out to Canyon Lake ( about 30 minutes away in hill country) but so did the rest of Texas. We made it to Overlook park so we got a good view of the lake but so many people around we thought we’d try to find another spot to get down closer to it. Well that was a mistake, busy everywhere so we just decided to bail and hang out by the RV park pool and drink a cold beer.

More adventures await, keep y’all posted.
