Back in Ontario!

So today we made it back into our home province of ON!

When we left Regina yesterday, we went on the road for about 10 hrs (including a few stops) and ended up at a small RV park in Manitoba, about 1/2 hr from the Ontario border. Long day! Figures the place we randomly stopped at gave us a pretty nice site on the river, which we didn’t really didn’t have time to enjoy...we just parked, ate and crashed.

Forgot just how vast the northern part of ON is so did another long driving stint to get to Dorion, just east of Thunder Bay. My ass is killing me since today was again, almost 8 hrs on the road. It’s amazing how quickly the scenery changes once you get into ON. The flat prairie land is almost immediately replaced by lots of evergreen trees, lakes and rock!

Too bad the weather sucked! It was cool in MB this morning but by the afternoon, we were in cold (9C) drizzly, overcast weather. I know Lake Superior was out there, just couldn’t see much of it. Too bad because I’m sure it’s beautiful here when the sun shines.

It’s going to be tempting to stay where we are for another night because again, as luck would have it, we’re camped right by the Wolf River in a perfect site...if only the weather cooperates tomorrow!

So the weather didn’t cooperate, so we drove another 8 hrs or so to Superior Provincial Park. Beautiful campground right on Agawa Bay. The beach was gorgeous, great for long walks and hanging out watching the sunset.

We lucked out and the weather finally cleared up but cold and windy. Decided to stay a couple of nights to get some rest and some alone time....which we both needed after being couped up in the car with each other for so long! :-)

Now we’re hanging out with family around North Bay until the Sept long weekend. Be back in Southern ON soon!
