Vegas Baby!

The Bellagio

Made it to Vegas...hot as hell! 100 degrees the first day, 104 the second. And forget what they tell you about dry heat, yeah it’s not humid but I think I prefer hot and sticky vs. hot and dry. First of all the skin feels much better in the humidity, so do the sinuses! And, at least in the humid hot climates, it’s lush and there’s SHADE, NOT so much in vegas. The desert scrub just isn’t tall enough to provide anything for you to escape the heat in.

So of course we gambled while we were here. Dave got in a good afternoon game of Texas Hold ‘em at the Bellagio and won $300. Later on he won another $100 playing “Let it ride”. I got lucky at slots. By the end of our 3 day stay here, it turned out we won enough to pay for our food, booze and the perfect Vegas show, ZUMANITY by Cirque de Soleil. Not your typical Cirque show...it was campy, sexy and perfect for Vegas....no one under 18 allowed which tells you a lot about the content. Excellent show!

So as they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas....here’s some pictures of a few  of the big hotels etc on the strip...you can put a lot of miles on the feet just walking in and out of all the casinos, they’re huge. Thank God you can rehydrate with your beverage of choice as you check them all out!

Now we’re heading North towards Oregon where it’s hopefully a little cooler. Today (June 25) the car thermometer showed the outside temperature as we were leaving Vegas was 41 C! Even 30 C would feel pleasant now!
