Welcome to BAD Travels.
Why BAD? Simple, it’s our initials Beth Anne & Dave. We put this webite together to keep our family and friends up to date on where we are & what we’ve been doing since selling our farm and quitting our jobs back in 2008.
Between 2009 and 2013 we were what I like to affectionately call, trailer trash. We travelled around Canada and the US in our truck and trailer with an occasional house sit, sometimes in exotic places like Costa Rica.
Our experiences during that time are documented in Past Travels and Costa Rica House sits. In each section you’ll find our Blog for that trip as well as Albums show casing all the places we went and the things we did.
In October 2013 we took a break from traveling to “flip” a house in Kitchener, ON. So much for “flipping”, it took us almost 2 years to fix up so let’s call it what it is, a full fledged renovation. We significantly underestimated how long it would take to improve this place but the transformations so far have been worth it. Can’t even begin to tell you how much we’ve learned. Well, the house SOLD on December 18, 2015 and because it didn’t close until the end of Feb 2016 we both decided to go back to work (on contract only) and buy another house. As of August 2017 we’re both done with work, have sold the second house and are now, as of Sept 2017 back on the road. To find out what we’re up to next, check out our Current Travels Blog
