We thought leaving Canada in February was going to be a challenge...hardly! Instead of having to dig the trailer out of a pile of snow in sub zero temps, we didn’t even have to remove a single flake of the white stuff when we left Newmarket, ON this morning. There wasn’t even any on the ground, man it’s been a tough winter! :-) I didn’t even have to buy winter boots this season!
Anyways, we took advantage of the spring like weather to begin our next road trip. Crossed the border at Sarnia/Port Huron after having lunch with my Dad. Late this afternoon, when the sun finally came out, the temperature got up to 49F and there was absolutely no snow to be seen anywhere in Michigan.
We’re crashing in Battle Creek, Michigan tonight.... at a hotel, not a campground. None are open but we could easily be camping in weather like this. It’s warmer now that it was a few of those days we spent in Florida in previous trips in Dec/Jan.
Tomorrow we’ve got another long day planned, we’re heading west to Gary, Indiana and then south, avoiding Indianapolis and surrounding area at all costs...Superbowl insanity this weekend, no thanks!
A few pics from our first day on the road!
