Arrived in Texas on Feb 5 and spent 3 days getting the trailer ready for everyday living. Now we’re heading south to the Gulf to find a place to hang out and stay warm for the rest of Feb. Check out the BLOG!

Pittsburg, TX was the first place we stayed in the trailer…the free laundry was big draw.

The RV park was nothing special but the perfect place to get the trailer back into living condition.

The kinda creepy looking giant Pilgrim head outside of some factory between Pittsburg, TX and Mount Pleasant, TX. See blog for explanation.

Pilgrim stuff everywhere, even banks!

Notice the Pilgrim silhouettes on the gates? This estate is apparently the home of Bo Pilgrim and the locals supposedly call it “Cluckingham Palace” in honour of his Chicken Kingness!

Who knows what industry’s smokestack this Pilgrim head is on in downtown Pittsburg.

Our second camping spot in Cut n’ Shoot, TX. About a 4 hour drive south from Pittsburg. Stayed here last year, price, location and amenities worked well for us so we came back for 4 days.

They gave us a nice site right by the pond.

Enjoyed the view out of the trailer onto water vs. staring into another trailer.

These ducks didn’t quack, they sounded more like the very noisy and very loud flocks of green parrots we saw in Costa Rica.

Turns out they’re called Black Bellied Whistling Ducks….for good reason!

Oh yeah, Dave did have to spend a few afternoons fixing our brake controller for the trailer. Seems to be working OK but we won’t know for sure until we get back on the road. Fingers crossed!!!
