Spent 2 weeks (Jan8-22) at the Be Live Grand Marien Hotel in Puerto Plata, DR. Great last minute deal for $2,300 (incl. taxes) for both of us. We would go back in a heartbeat! Check out the BLOG!

Our room, double beds were actually long enough for us

Nothing fancy but it did the trick. The TV, fridge and air conditioner all worked just fine.

We considered this our own personal living room, it was just outside our door.

It rained the night before and all morning, nice lake accumulated down below our room. We were glad we weren’t on the first floor.

The resort location was very picturesque with the mountain in the background.

It was a nice pool but didn’t even stick my big toe in it…it was better by the beach

You could walk on the beach for miles

Beachfront immediately in front of our hotel and to the right. All the other hotels were in this direction.

Beachfront to the left of our resort. Couldn’t walk too far this way. The ocean was warm, nice sandy bottom and deep, great for swimming.

We walked every morning, helped work off all the food.

Played lots of volleyball too!

Lots of guests played VB so there were games going on at least 2 - 3 times a day.

Lots of natural shade so no need to get up early and reserve a spot. We pretty much claimed this spot, lots of shade, close to everything important like the beach bar and VB courts!

This was the local market just 10 minutes down the beach from the hotel. Got asked many times to go in but never did. No room in the trailer to buy anything.

Walking this day was an adventure. We alternated between wet and dry for about 2 hours, the rainbow was nice.

This shark was at a hotel about 30 minutes from ours. The perfect place for their “travel consultants” to try and sell you a kooky, looky at the property.

This was the far end of the hotel strip, almost an hour from our hotel.

This little guy was there looking for handouts.

Gave him some fresh water which he sucked up fast but all he wanted to do was play. Could have packed him up and brought him home with us.

Every afternoon it got pretty windy so it was great for sailors and the kite surfers.

Hung out with Sue and James from the Hamilton area. We just finished a great dinner at the Gourmet restaurant.
