Headed about two hours further south and spent another 3 nights at Isaac Creek Campground, still in rural Alabama.
It was a nice drive on one of the curviest roads (#41) we travelled on. The host at the previous park we were at said he thought it was the worst engineered road he’d been on. We didn’t think it was that bad but we were only pulling an 18 ft trailer, he drives a 33 ft RV. His wife said one time they were on it she decided to count the curves...there were 40! Neil and Sylvia, Mark and Heather....if you guys are ever in Alabama with your motorcycles, go for a drive on this road....you’d have a blast on your machines!!! Dave even managed to go out for his first ride this stay.
Had nice warm, dry, sunny weather our entire stay here. Biking here was also great but the roads were hillier. The perfect way to step it up after the long, straight, flat roads at the previous campground.
We also managed to find a place to practice our katas this stay....after almost 3 months of no training we were more than just a “little” rusty...glad you weren’t there to see us Sensei! We hope to get this into our morning routine more regularly now because it felt good to work through everything. Hope you guys aren’t missing our “beatings” too much...get those new specs yet Phil? :-)
Oh yah, hunting around this campground was also interesting. There was a trail that at one end was marked with biking and walking signs and it ended at another that had the same signs but a big one marked “SMALL GAME HUNTING”....great! Good thing Dave and I aren’t “Small”
Nancy....the bathrooms at this park were spotless! No comparison to the mess at Prairie creek. If you guys ever head back this way, all the sites were nice and big, lots of trees between them so relatively private. Some even have their own docks like the one we had.
