Hunting Island State Park campground…glad we visited, wish we’d visited before all the hurricane damage, too bad the fishing sucked. Not sure we’d go out of our way to return here in the winter months. Back to the BLOG

The “bomb zone” . The sites in this section were not so pretty anymore. Most just surrounded by wood chips. Landscaping still leaves a lot to be desired but I’m sure mother nature will eventually take care of that.

They really had to rebuild the sites in this section with new gravel after they removed and wood chipped the downed trees. Pretty exposed.

Our show stopping neighbours at 181, it was fun to watch all the people drive by and take pictures or stop and talk to the owners. It was a pretty cool retro set up.

And of course the week we were the most exposed in the bomb zone it was the hottest. Check out the Centrigrade temps on Feb 25!! I think it was record breaking.

The last cabin standing. We were told that previously there was a dune in front of this cabin, it was not meant to be oceanfront. And at one time there were two other roads of cabins, all destroyed by hurricances over the years.

And this cool little tree toad Dave originally discovered on the camper, got him to jump off because we were leaving.
