This off the beaten path was recommended to us by staff at the Coronado Stte Monument. He said there were lots of Petroglyphs but we only saw one. Diappointed with that but it was worth it just to see the snake. Check out the BLOG!

This was where the hike started, we ended up on top of that mesa.

Lots of lizards like this one along the trail

When we first saw this guy we were hesitant to walk by since he was looking around. Didn’t hear any rattling but we couldn’t see his tail.

When he finally decided to move on….down the hill away from us, (Dave was very happy about that!) we could clearly see that he wasn’t a rattler. Doesn’t mean he wasn’t venomous though!

Back at the trail head. This is the creek that made everything green. You can also see the tiny little adobe buildings that people currently live in on the left.
