The Island in the Sky (ITTS) district is the north end of this huge National Park. We didn’t enjoy it as much as the southern, Needles district but that could be due to the fact that we’re cantoned out! Check out the BLOG!

Looks a lot smaller than the ones we saw in Arches NP

But it was still impressive, especially since walking thru it would have meant plunging to the bottom of the canyon below.

Yeah it’s way out there. It was a bit overcast (first time in weeks) when we were here so it didn’t make for the best picture taking.

Whale rock. We could have hiked up to the top of it but we passed. Very similar to the enchanted rock hike we did in Texas last year.

This was the only trail we were interested in doing since the rock formation here is supposed to be unlike anything else we’ve seen.

Agreed, very different. You can see how a meteor crashing into the earth could have created this.

Hike to second overlook had a few good ups.

This is billed to be the best view in the park.

If we hadn’t already seen the Grand Canyon, maybe….different but not nearly as jaw dropping as the real thing.
