We love being near the water and you can’t get much closer to this nice beach than being at my friend Sue’s cottage in Grand Bend, ON. Check out the BLOG!

Tons of sand blew in the public beach right in front of Sue’s cottage this past winter. The town had the workers redistribute it further down the main beach.

Looking back at the cottage after the sand was removed.

It’s now almost a 6 ft drop down from Sue’s private beach to the public one. Last years pic shows the drop was only about 1 ft after the beach regrade.

Only had time to paint one bedroom this time. This is the before.

Notice the lovely green mint color on all the walls including trim

An oh yeah, the tape on the little closet is to keep the bats from using the rest of the cottage as a playground

A work in progress…..and yeah, I include Dave in that statement! The closet was bat proofed and sealed up before painting.

One of Dave’s jobs was to clean and reorganize the stuff remaining in the garage. Amazing! Our beast of a truck actually fits in it!

I think this was my favourite sunset this stay at the cottage.

Soaking up the sun…we had a lot of fun watching these two chase each other around the cottage.

The new, large house going up beside Sue’s cottage…..kinda mkaes her place look small now.

Just a few of the supplies for the ONE night girls weekend….and yes, we actually made a pretty good dent in it.

Sue, Ann and Judy are NOT OPA members or Oakwood guests but it was before 10pm so no once called cops on them :-)

My God, he can do! His secret, buy a really stable, beginner wind surfer board that’s bouyant enough to hold both of us.

He still remembers how to windsurf

Relaxing by the one and only fire we had while we were at the cottage.

Canada day insanity at Grand Bend. It was hot and sunny and crowded, even in front of the cottage. It’s rarely busy this far down on the public beach.

Really crowded on the main beach closer to town….you can see why the crowds moved down closer to Sue’s.
