Arrived at our house sit in Grand Bend on April 1st and our first week here has been anything but spring like. It is Spring right??? So far the temps in April have been below normal (10C) and there’s been plenty of snow in the form of streamers off the lake. Fortunately none of it has stayed for long, no shoveling required and the sun (when it’s out!) melts it all away usually by end of day.
The only sign of spring so far are these crocuses in the garden, just barely flowering
Been settling in to the house over the past week, always fun figuring out where everything is and how things work but the owners, who are traveling in Australia left us lots of notes so it’s been an easy adjustment. Also helps that there’s lots of comfy furniture to lounge around in and a wood stove to keep us warm. With any luck we won’t need the stove for much longer and it finally warms up around here. Here’s where we’re hanging out until mid May.
This is the snow we’ve encountered and let’s just say that walking on the beach here right now sure isn’t as enjoyable as walking on the beaches in South Carolina. Can’t wait for things to warm up!
