Just a few pictures from around Murrells Inlet and Huntington Beach State park. Check out the BLOG!

The jetty where most of the good fishing happens. It’s a 1.5 mile walk from the closest parking lot. A full 3 miles from our campground boardwalk to the beach.

My first catch. A spot tail pin fish. We used him for bait but in hindsight based on what we haven’t been able to catch, we should have kept and eaten it!

I think I lost my mind when I caught this fish….I didn’t take my picture with it so you can’t tell how big it is. It’s a red fish, great eating but it was 25” long. 2” too big to keep. Dang it all, had to throw it back in and haven’t caught one any close to this big since!

Small beach bird, not sure exactly what it is but we call them “peeps” based on the noise they make. They’re always hanging around hoping to score or should I say steal bait.

The birds attract quite the audience. There are plenty of birders around here and they carry some mighty big cameras.

I was lucky enough to see these osprey catch a couple of fish and then I saw them in this tree eating them about 10 minutes later on my walk.
